Derwent Teeswaters - Noble & Majestic
The Derwent Teeswater flock was initially established in 2017 for Kev and Jacob as a bit of fun, but before we got our first two foundation ewes home they had been integrated into the Derwent Flock. Neen Diana is still here now, retired after producing some stunning offspring over the years, including our multiple champion Derwent Dynamite. They are the largest sheep on the farm and are blessed with majestic, laidback personalities. Teeswaters are higher maintence than our other pedigree breeds but we are rewarded with kilos of lustrous, white ringlets from these strikingly marked sheep.
Our first stock and show ram was Kendal Henry who we purchased at the annual Teeswater Show & Sale in 2018. We produced and handled Henry to stand Male Champion and Overall Reserve Teeswater Champion at the 2019 Great Yorkshire Show. Dynamite went on to follow in his sire’s footsteps, with many County Show championships in Teeswater, Longwool and Rare Breed sections, and most notably, Supreme Lowland Non Terminal Champion and Overall Rare Breed Champion at Westmorland County Show in September 2024.
Our foundation ewes were a selection of Tunstall andHowe Wath lines, but the majority of our females are now homebred. In 2026 we will have lambs from four different rams, Derwent Dynamite, Derwemt Emporer, Howe Wath Fergus and Derwent Gideon.
