Our Clun Forest flock began as birthday surprise for Sue - a lovely ewe lamb by the name of Low Barn Birthday Surprise in 2018. She was quickly joined by gimmer shearlings and ewes from the Nene, Honddu, Hunter, Wrotham flocks. We breed our Clun Forests pure to show and also use our ram on the commercial sheep to produce fast growing meat lambs for the local prime market.

The ewes are now mostly homebred and we breed about a dozen pure and cross the remainder to a continental ram, from which female crosses will also be retained as replacement commercial ewes and the wethers grow fast and are away fat by weaning time. The ewes are very good milky mothers and do not require huge inputs, utilising grazed forage very well.
